Kristin Capp is a photographer based in Windhoek, Namibia who has exhibited in Europe, the US, Brazil and in Namibia. Her work is held in many public and private collections internationally. Her photography monograph, Hutterite: A World of Grace (Edition Stemmle, Zurich,1998) was the study of a religious community living in the western United States. Her second monograph, Americana (Edition Stemmle, 2000), included work made throughout the United States over a period of 7 years. Keeping the Embers Alive: Musicians of Zimbabwe, marks her third publication, a collaborative work done in Zimbabwe in 2000.
Her current works in progress include a monograph of photographs from Brazil, and a series from Namibia entitled the Horse Latitudes, which is a tapestry of black & white images assembled into an emotional narrative. As a recurring metaphor in the work, the latitudes represent a change in the experience of time and reference the place in Africa where the photographs were made. She is currently based in Windhoek, Namibia.
