EXHIBITION | LECTURE | PORTFOLIO REVIEW

Jake Price has been working on a long-term trans media project about how Japan is recovering from the earthquake and tsunami.  Through short films, photography and audio he explores how individuals and society cope with trauma and rebuild their lives in the wake of the natural disaster and the ongoing nuclear threat.

In 2011 and 2012 Mr. Price made 5 trips from New York to the northern region of Tohoku where he focused on one village, Yuriage, as it recovered from the devastation.

Prior to his Japan project he has worked in more than 40 countries throughout the world.  In Kosovo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Pakistan and Haiti he collaborated with Médecins Sans Frontières /Doctors Without Borders in addressing critical issues facing populations as they recovered from war and natural disasters.

His work appears in The New York Times, TIME, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker,  Newsweek, The Village Voice,  Le Monde2 and other publications throughout the world.  He also works as a producer for BBC online.

He has exhibited in the Leica Gallery, New York, The Simon Wiesenthal Center, Los Angeles, and Alliance Francias, New York amongst others.
